Jennifer Myers was raised in Houston, TX by parents who avidly pursued their passion for plants, gardening, and things beautiful and full of life. As a youngster, her frequent trips with her father to Mexico instilled in her a passion for the color and exotic beauty of nature, which she strives to recreate in her floral designs. Jennifer earned her BA in studio art from UT Austin in 1977, and her professional BA nursing degree at UT Galveston in 1981.
A resident of Austin for over 20 years, Jennifer is widely known within the gardening community for her floral creations and gardening skills. Since 1992 she has designed and developed her gardens at her historic home in Austin where she continues to explore the beauty of botany and art. Built into the bank of Austin’s Shoal Creek with a popular hike-and-bike trail at her curbside, her house and gardens have gained notoriety, having been profiled on television and radio programs, and published numerous times, including Page Dickey’s book, Inside Out, Garden Design and Home Companion magazines, and has been featured in USA Today - Lifestyle.
Jennifer’s Gardens, the business, is the expression of her lifelong passion of art and flowers. After years of catering and floral design requests by friends (always received with heaped praises), she is now throwing her heart and soul into building a floral design business. Jennifer is known for her frequent and unique inclusion of natural elements—which are found roadside at any given moment and place—reflecting her unique creativity and passion for the natural world.
